Emily Henry is sharing some of her romance book recommendations.

The bestselling author appeared on the latest episode of Lit Check on May 13. A collaboration between Reese’s Book Club and its official audiobook home, Apple Books, the series invites authors from within Reese Witherspoon‘s Hello Sunshine network to share some of their must-reads (and must-listen-to audiobooks).

First up on Henry’s list was Tia WilliamsA Love Song for Ricki WIlde. The author’s recent adult romance follows the daughter of an influential Atlanta dynasty and her blooming relationship with a charismatic musician.

“This book is a sexy, electric, moving romance,” Henry said. “There’s a slightly magical twist and there’s also a really steamy scene involving a piano.”

“It is so profoundly emotional and healing and joyful, and the audio is fantastic,” Henry said of the award-winning audiobook. “There’s dual narrators who do a wonderful job.”

Next, Henry recommended Life’s Too Short, a rom-com by Abby Jimenez, and the final book in her Friend Zone trilogy.

“It is really, really funny while also dealing with real-life serious issues in a really lovely, empathetic, generous way,” Henry said.

Henry also chose Between Friends and Lovers by Shirlene Obuobi and Thank You For Listening by Julia Whelan. The latter, which Henry called “the most delightfully meta book ever,” is especially fitting. Whelan has narrated all of Henry’s audiobooks, including her most recent release, Great Big Beautiful Life (also Reese’s Book Club’s May selection).

Henry also picked novels like The Bodyguard by Katherine Center, The Luckiest Lady in London by Sherry Thomas, The Truth According to Ember by Danica Nava and How to End a Love Story by Yulin Kuang.

“[How to End a Love Story] is really heart-rending in moments but it’s also so funny and fun and romantic,” Henry said. “It’s just very life-affirming. I think about this book all the time.”

“I read their books and I loved them. And then I emailed my agent and was like, ‘Hey, I think I wrote something in this genre a couple of years ago,” Henry said. “I started reading romance voraciously at that point, not just because I wanted to publish in this genre, but because I had stumbled on a genre that I really loved.”

Henry’s full list of recommendations will be on sale, in audio and ebook format, for under $5 from May 13 to May 20.
