Muse Squad Brings Creative Writing Program To Ridgefield

RIDGEFIELD, CT — A creative writing program aimed at young storytellers is launching this spring at Ridgefield Parks & Recreation. Muse Squad, a literature-based writing workshop, will offer classes for children and teens interested in developing their storytelling skills.

This season’s program will center around “At the Back of the North Wind,” a fantasy novel by George MacDonald. Through discussions and creative exercises, participants will explore storytelling techniques, refine their writing voices, and collaborate with peers.

Spring 2025 Course Offerings:

  • North Wind (Ages 8-12) – Wednesdays, 4:45 p.m. to 6:15 p.m., March 19 to May 28
  • Wonderland (Teens 13+) – Wednesdays, 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., March 19 to May 28

The classes will be held at Ridgefield Parks & Recreation, 195 Danbury Road.

Muse Squad has also announced the addition of a new instructor, Brianna Bencosme Bidó, who will co-teach the Ridgefield courses. Bidó holds a bachelor’s degree in creative and professional writing and is currently pursuing an M.F.A. in the same field at Western Connecticut State University. She is an experienced teaching artist, poet, and essayist.

The program aims to foster creativity and strengthen writing skills in a supportive environment. Registration is now open.
